A Tail of A Mermaid and A Pirate

At long last, we’re so excited to finally be able to invite you to our special day!

Once upon a time in 2012, Jamie had a vision of a singer performing underwater for a music video he was directing. Turns out there was only one underwater studio in the Bay Area, and Paige was the resident mermaid. Jamie had never met a real life siren before, but there she was, diving through the lights into the dark…

And that was the night our story began!

We assumed we’d run into each other again somehow, as our wide circles of artists were only degrees apart, but it was four years before we finally had our first long conversation on another film shoot and really connected. We became fast friends, collaborating on projects that incorporated Paige’s vivid paintings and Jamie’s knack for storytelling, and talking into the twilight about books, art, fantasy, circus, cinema, strange history, and even more books.

Eventually our friendship caught fire, and it’s been ablaze ever since. We moved in together and have collaborated endlessly, celebrating the magic and mischief of our creative journey. From quiet walks through whispering trees, to filming performances at the bottom of the sea, to nights of sparks and screaming crowds, we've never tired of creating stories together.

On an April night in 2019, Jamie dropped to his knee in the rain and proposed, offering Paige an engraved coffin nail. She laughed, and said, “Are you kidding me? Of course!” We’ve worn these nails around our necks every day since, waiting for the proper time to celebrate our unlikely story with all of our beloved friends and family who’ve been on this adventure with us.

We dearly hope you’ll come to this once in a lifetime event, to revel in the magic of the world we’ve created together. Come escape into a secret venue underneath the streets of San Francisco, to a place you can only enter through the face of a clock…

Ceremony & Show

6:00 pm

As lifelong artists and performers, a traditional ceremony isn’t a big enough canvas for us. This is also a SHOW (because of course it has to be), a riotous party, and a glorious celebration of two strange solitary souls who found the person that they want to walk all the way to the end with.
See location section for instructions on entering the building.

644 Broadway, San Francisco, CA

Reception

7:30 pm

Drinks, dancing, musical performances, and Mediterranean food with our favorite people!

Same location as our ceremony

Party After

10:30 pm

Come hang out with us after, we'll be meeting up at the Monroe Lounge at 473 Broadway St., San Francisco, only a few minutes walk from the venue!

473 Broadway St, San Francisco, CA 94133

Palace Theater

644 Broadway, San Francisco, CA

Our wedding and reception will take place at the Palace Theater in the North Beach area of San Francisco. During the Gold Rush, North Beach was a part of the notorious Barbary Coast. The Palace Theater is a beautiful replica 1920s speakeasy rich with period detail that pays homage to an earlier era.

Entry

As you walk up Broadway, there will be a sign for Joe's Clock Shop. Look for the large gold door near the stone lions next to China Live. You will enter here. As the old brass hands of the grandfather clock tick towards six o'clock, the store's humble facade will reveal the secrets within.
Step on through and leave the ordinary behind...

Transportation

The theater is right in the middle of a busy part of San Francisco, so taking an Uber/Lyft or taxi will probably be the easiest way to get there.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
Montgomery station is the closest BART stop. It's about a mile from the Theater. We'd recommend taking a rideshare the rest of the way. If you're feeling ambitious you could walk up Montgomery street, or there are buses that will get you close.
FLIGHTS:
Both SFO and OAK airports are a reasonable distance from the venue. SFO is the closest and usually has better flight options. It's easy to rent a car at the airport, or take BART to where you plan to stay. Public transportation around the Bay is spotty unless your directly along the BART line, so check your location before hand or ask us if you need help.

Parking

There are plenty of garages in the area if you'd like to drive, but please note hours so your car doesn't get stuck overnight!

NEARBY GARAGES:
SFMTA North Beach Garage
735 Vallejo St.
*This is our recommended garage, it's two flat blocks from the venue, has reasonable rates, and is open 24/7*

Day Trips

SAUSALITO
Take the ferry from Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito, a charming small town with lovely views of San Francisco.
MUIR WOODS
A stunning old grown redwood forest.
SANTA CRUZ BOARDWALK
One of our favorite places to get away - there's a fun amusement park right on the ocean, and a ton of natural scenic beauty between sun-soaked beaches and spectacular redwood forests.
NAPA AND SONOMA
Try the Napa valley wine train, or go wine tasting on your own!
WINCHESTER MYSTERY HOUSE
The infamous "haunted" mansion built by Sarah Winchester with the Winchester fortune.
ATTIRE:
Dress fabulously! This isn't a traditional wedding, and we want you all to wear whatever makes you feel fun and glamorous. Although the space is 1920's-era, we're going for an elegant cabaret feeling rather than a period specific vibe.

FOOD & LIBATIONS:
There will be a Mediterranean buffet with meat, vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. If you have a particular food allergy let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate.
The Palace Theater specializes in delicious 1920's cocktails with high-end era appropriate  liquors! There will be wine, beer, and non-alcoholic drinks as well. Your opening cocktail round is on us!

CHILDREN:
While the venue is technically all ages, the event isn't going to be particularly kid friendly.

COVID & SAFETY:
We'd really appreciate it if you test before the wedding and stay home if you don't feel well. We'll have some elder/immunocompromised folks at the wedding who are very near and dear to us.
Please don't feel you need to give us anything, you being here with us is a gift of its own. But if you'd like to, we're hoping to save up for a trip to Venice after the wedding!
We don't have a lot of space in our current living situation (that triples as a film/art/writing studio), so we'd much prefer donations to the trip rather than material things. We're also sensitive arty types, so even writing us a poem or a drawing would mean the world to us!
We thought it would be fun to do a honeymoon registry where you can choose what your gift goes towards. However, if you prefer venmo or paypal that works too! Please write "Honeymoon Fund" in the description and use the friends/family designation.
